Who I Work With
Has your body been trying to get your attention?
Many people come to ReCentre Physio with chronic pain, tension or burnout that hasn't responded the way they hoped — often because there's more going on underneath than any one appointment has had time to address. You don't need a tidy diagnosis, a clear explanation or a label for any of this to make sense for you.
You might be in the right place if…
- Your symptoms are persistent, recurring, or don't fit neatly into one explanation.
- You've tried physio, massage, medication or other approaches — some of it helped, but something still feels unfinished.
- Your symptoms shift with stress, sleep, or how much you're carrying emotionally.
- You want to understand what might be influencing your symptoms, rather than just managing them.
- You want an approach to movement and wellbeing that's built around you, not a standard protocol.
- You want practical tools you can use in everyday life — not only in a session.
If none of that feels like an exact fit, that's okay too — recognising even part of yourself here is enough to be worth a conversation.
When your body has been trying to tell you something
These are experiences people bring, not boxes you need to tick.
Pain and tension that won't shift
Persistent back pain flare-ups, headaches, neck and shoulder tension, whole-body tension that hasn't changed no matter how many massages you've tried. Sometimes there's a diagnosis in the mix — sometimes there isn't.
Life has reshaped you
Becoming a parent, perimenopause or menopause, grief and loss, a major career or relationship change — the kind of chapter that changes you, body and mind, whether you asked for it or not.
You've stopped feeling heard
Scans have come back normal, or you've been told it's "just stress", or you've left appointment after appointment feeling nobody was really listening. Your symptoms are real, and we start from where you actually are.
You're the one holding everything together
Nurses, allied health professionals, carers — and anyone whose role is caring for other people's wellbeing, at work or at home. Burnout doesn't always look dramatic; sometimes it's getting through the day on autopilot, wondering when you last felt like yourself.
Something happened — or closeness feels complicated
A single significant event, something ongoing, or an experience you've never named as "trauma" at all. Or relational patterns — over-functioning for others, struggling with boundaries — that show up in the body as much as in relationships. These are patterns, not fixed traits.
Your nervous system works differently
ADHD, autism, or simply a system that takes in more of the world than most. Sensory overwhelm, feeling flat or foggy, running on empty no matter how much you rest, or feeling on alert even when nothing's wrong. This work respects how your nervous system actually works.
You don't need any of the following to work with me
- A history of trauma
- A specific diagnosis
- Any prior knowledge of nervous-system concepts
- To already believe in this approach
- To have tried every other treatment first
- To feel "dysregulated", or to use that word at all
What working together tends to look like
- Listening first, before deciding on a plan.
- Looking beyond the immediate symptom to understand what else might be influencing it — your history, your nervous system, your current life circumstances.
- Deciding together what feels appropriate for you, rather than following a fixed protocol.
- Adapting sessions to whatever capacity you have that day or that week.
- Combining guided, body-based physiotherapy with nervous-system-informed strategies, where that's relevant to what you're experiencing.
- Helping you build skills and understanding you can take with you — so the support doesn't only exist inside our sessions.
Not managing. Actually living.
This work isn't about chasing symptom relief in the moment — it's about building steadier capacity, so life doesn't keep pulling you back into the same patterns of overwhelm.
Over time, many clients notice more ease in body and mind — less bracing, less holding, more room to breathe. Not because the hard things disappear, but because there's more capacity to meet them. You may find yourself choosing rather than just coping, trusting your own signals again, and showing up for the people around you from a place of capacity.
What that looks like, and how long it takes, is individual — there are no fixed timelines here.
A little about the support behind this work
I'm an AHPRA-registered physiotherapist and a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association, trained through Jessica Maguire's Nervous System School. The nervous-system-informed side of this work sits alongside — not instead of — solid physiotherapy training.
Still deciding?
That's completely okay — a lot of people feel that way before reaching out. The self-check offers a low-pressure way to reflect first. Concept preview
